Company Overview
The company Visitret Displays Ltd was founded in 2007 based on previous research project by Jüri Liiv, the inventor of Visitret’s core technology, and Honey Investments Ltd, a British capital based Estonian investment company. In 2007 cooperation was established with Tartu University Faculty of Science and Technology. During year 2008 the R&D work was started also in Portugal and US.
Several international patents granted and pending are based on an invention about active elements of reflective displays with potential to use in very wide area of display solutions (large area displays, flexible displays, e-paper, colour changing surfaces etc). Visitret's display solution has unique manufacturing and working principle and huge advantages compared to existing paper like displays (as providing high brightness and contrast level full colour images, much lower production costs, quicker reaction times etc). The technology has no limits of using it in flexible and large area display devices.
Visitret’s technology is considered to be highly competitive in future FPD markets as by its product characteristics it is ideal for next generation information displays. R&D center of the company is located in Tartu, Estonia. The team consists of high level PhD specialists of physics, chemistry, material sciences etc. Current R&D work is partly funded by Enterprise Estonia and European Union.
Visitret Displays Ltd is cooperating with foreign specialists to ensure top level input in all R&D areas. During first quarter of year 2009 a consortium of nine corporate R&D partners was established of companies and research institutions from EU and other countries.
